Anderson Moye Claims MIAC Swimmer of the Week Honors!

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Stella Anderson Moye (So., Inver Grove Heights, Minn.) was recognized as the MIAC Women’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday, January 21. 

Anderson Moye clinched first place in three events during the Gustie women’s 167-133 triumph over Carleton on Friday in the team’s last home meet of the season. The sophomore triumphed in the 200 freestyle in 2:00.91, the 100 freestyle in 55.44, and contributed to the winning 200 freestyle relay that secured first with a time of 1:40.97. Additionally, she achieved a second-place finish in the 500 freestyle at 5:32.40. 

This marks the first career selection for Anderson Moye, the current MIAC Rookie of the Year, and the third weekly honor for the women’s swim & dive squad this season, joining Geneva Fackler (Fy., Plymouth, Minn.) and Gabriella Stoudt (Jr., Maple Plain, Minn.), who received Diver of the Week accolades twice in the fall. 

Anderson Moye is positioned in the top-15 of six distinct events within the conference: 100 freestyle (11th), 200 freestyle (12th), 500 freestyle (13th), 1000 freestyle (13th), 200 IM (11th), and 400 IM (ninth).

The Gusties are set to head to Wisconsin this weekend for the two-day UW-Stevens Point Invite on Friday and Saturday. The start times for the competition are arranged for 9:30 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Friday, along with 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
