STARKVILLE, Miss. – The Troy men’s tennis squad faced difficulties in finding momentum against No. 11 Mississippi State, suffering a 7-0 defeat on Sunday afternoon at the Rula Tennis Pavilion during the first-ever confrontation between the two teams.

Mississippi State (4-0) secured the doubles point with two 6-1 victories in the No. 2 and No. 3 positions, establishing an early 1-0 advantage over Troy (1-3).

In singles action, the Bulldogs claimed victory across all six courts in straight sets. Yeray Andres Pastor achieved the most success for Troy, securing three games in each of his singles matches.

Troy will return to competition on Friday afternoon, facing Auburn-Montgomery in a pair of matches. The first serves are scheduled for 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
