Scott Downing, the Vice President for Athletics at Sterling College, has announced the resignation of Head Swim Coach Cord Harrington, effective at the conclusion of the swimming season.
“Cord has played a significant role in our swimming program both as an athlete and coach,” said Downing. “We are grateful for the dedication he has shown to the program and wish him success in his future endeavors.”
Harrington was the inaugural swimmer to graduate from the fledgling Warriors swim program in 2020 and served as the assistant swim coach under Laryssa McMartin for a year prior to stepping in as the Interim Head Coach in the fall of 2022.
“I would like to express my gratitude to Justin Morris and Scott Downing for allowing me the opportunity to work and contribute to the school, to Gary Kempf for guiding me in my first year, and to the community for its unwavering support of the swimming program. Sterling is an excellent place to be, and I look forward to supporting from wherever my journey takes me,” Harrington remarked.
A comprehensive search is currently being conducted to appoint the next men’s and women’s swim coaches at Sterling College.
