Team Cherry Shares Exciting New Insights on Hollow Knight: Silksong!

Hollow Knight: Silksong is still in development. This is according to the game’s creators, Team Cherry, who shared this update over the weekend.

In response to a fan’s inquiry regarding the game’s progress or whether the developers had “abandoned the project,” the head of marketing and publishing, Matthew Griffin, provided a concise answer to the query.

“Yes, the game is authentic, progressing and will be released,” he stated, adding a heart emoji afterward.

While it may not be the revelation fans have been hoping for from a title that was officially revealed in 2019, it remains a noteworthy comment from a team that has been quite reserved until now. Initially intended as an expansion for the first installment, Silksong evolved into a standalone sequel during its development. According to Team Cherry, it will boast over 165 new foes and 100 distinct benches.

The game allows you to control Hornet, who has been apprehended and transported to an “unknown territory” where she must battle her way free to reach “the peak of the kingdom”.

As per Team Cherry, aside from the new adversaries and extra benches, Silksong will introduce an entirely new Kingdom, a fresh original soundtrack, a challenge mode, new movement mechanics, and additional weapons to master.

The game was initially scheduled for a 2023 launch, but prolonged development has delayed its release. However, there has been no indication regarding when it might finally debut. When it does launch, Silksong will be available on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
