NEW YORK – Xavier’s men’s and women’s swimming teams dominated the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week, with Olivia Oyster receiving the accolade on the women’s side and Aiden Leamer claiming the award on the men’s side.

Oyster, a junior hailing from Delaware, Ohio, secured five event victories during Xavier’s competitions at Cincinnati and Bellarmine over the weekend. Additionally, she contributed to Xavier’s second place finish in the 200 free relay. Leamer, a junior from Mason, Ohio, garnered four event triumphs along with four second-place finishes over the weekend. Competing against Cincinnati, he won the 100 fly with a time of 49.60. Leamer also earned second place in the 50 free, finishing in 21.45. He aided Xavier’s relays to record two second-place finishes facing the Bearcats as well. At Bellarmine with NKU, Leamer clinched top honors in the 200 fly, finishing in 1:49.14 and secured the 100 fly with a time of 50.00. He also participated in both relays as a member of the A-Team, contributing to Xavier’s first place in the 200 free relay and second place in the 200 medley relay.

This marks the second weekly recognition of the season for both Oyster and Leamer. Xavier will return to the pool for the last two meets leading up to the 2025 BIG EAST Championships next weekend, starting with Miami (Ohio) on Saturday, Jan. 25 at 1:00 PM. Following that, the Musketeers will head to Fishers, Ind., for the Butler Invite on Sunday, Jan. 26 at noon.
