Coffee makers, styling irons, and air fryers are the devices that Gen Z cannot do without, a study has shown.
A survey, conducted with 2,000 adults, has uncovered how varying generations appreciate diverse appliances in their households – and which items they reach for first in the morning.
Among the coffee-obsessed Gen Z, fewer than half (41 percent) considered their machine a luxury, in contrast to 64 percent of both Baby Boomers and Generation X.
The younger demographic is also less inclined to view styling irons (30 percent) and air fryers (33 percent) as luxuries compared to boomers (55 percent for styling irons and 47 percent for air fryers).
Furthermore, it is evident that the nation is fond of hot beverages, as half of all adults identified the kettle as the first appliance they utilize in the morning—significantly ahead of the fridge (11 percent).
However, older generations are more prone than younger individuals to opt for a brew when they wake up, with 70 percent of Boomers turning to the kettle first, compared to just 21 percent of Gen Z.
This research was commissioned by the Association of Manufacturers of Domestic Appliances (AMDEA) to promote device registration during Register My Appliance Week.

An approximate 40 million major appliances remain unregistered, which indicates they are untraceable if a safety repair is required.
The washing machine was recognized universally by individuals of all ages as the appliance they cannot manage without (62 percent).
It was succeeded by the refrigerator (59 percent), oven (32 percent), and freezer (29 percent).
Additionally, it was revealed that 80 percent of adults indicated that energy efficiency was a significant consideration when purchasing a new appliance, with 65 percent verifying its eco-friendly credentials prior to spending their money.
