“2024 Gaming Boom: Revenue Surges Beyond $6 Billion, Says CDC Gaming”

The Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board announced on Tuesday an unprecedented annual revenue of $6.17 billion for 2024, marking the first occasion the $6 billion threshold has been surpassed.

The rise, as noted by PGCB in an announcement, was driven by a 25 percent surge in igaming revenue to $2.18 billion.

Tax revenues generated from all types of gaming within the state amounted to $2.66 billion, setting another yearly record.

Although slot machine revenue experienced a slight decline in 2024 (down 2.8 percent), Parx Casino in Philadelphia topped the list of Keystone state casinos with $386.2 million. Wind Creek Bethlehem recorded slot revenues of $286.7 million in 2024, which is a 0.57 percent increase, while Rivers Casino Pittsburgh noted slot revenues of $262.9 million, a decrease of 1.62 percent.

Pennsylvania’s igaming revenue was led by Hollywood Casino at Penn National in Grantville, generating $820.7 million, a 15.2 percent rise. Valley Forge Casino resort reported $573.5 million, marking a 46.1 percent increase, and Rivers Casino Philadelphia achieved revenue of $379.6 million, an increase of 11.5 percent.

Valley Forge Casino topped all Pennsylvania casinos with sports betting revenue of $272.1 million, a 16.5 percent increase. Hollywood Casino at the Meadows in Meadowland generated sports betting revenue of $132.2 million, which is a 9.1 percent rise, while Hollywood Casino Morgantown achieved $21.3 million, increasing by 1.4 percent.

Statewide table games revenue reached $937.5 million, led by Wind Creek Bethlehem with $248.3 million, representing a 2.9 percent increase. Parx Casino’s table games revenue was $194.6 million, reflecting a drop of 3.7 percent, and Live Casino Philadelphia reported $106.8 million, declining by 1.5 percent.
