GRAND FORKS, N.D. — Junior Andrea Pineda concluded her inaugural weekend at North Dakota impressively, receiving the Summit League Women’s Tennis Peak Performer of the Week recognition as declared by the league office on Tuesday afternoon. 

Pineda showcased her skills over the initial weekend of the spring season, achieving a 2-0 record in singles and a 2-0 record in doubles, contributing to North Dakota’s victories over Eastern Illinois (6-1) and Lindenwood (7-0).

 

In the top spot of the singles lineup for all her matches, Pineda commenced the weekend with a match-clinching triumph against EIU after securing a 6-2, 6-1 victory. She subsequently extended the lead to 6-0 against Lindenwood with a 7-5, 6-0 win on her court.

 

At the No. 3 position in doubles, she achieved a pair of 6-1 victories against both EIU and LU to assist the Fighting Hawks in going undefeated in doubles throughout the weekend.

North Dakota will take a week off before returning to action on Friday, Jan. 31, at Hawaii Pacific.
