Alyssa Bowen, a third-year 3-D visual art student at Lander University, had one of her images highlighted in the Fall 2024 issue of Analog ForeverMagazine, a publication devoted to modern film and analog photography.

“I encouraged my portrait students to submit their creations to Analog Forever Magazine for a group exhibition, and Alyssa Bowen’s artwork, ‘Open,’ was chosen,” stated Jon Holloway, art professor at Lander. “Well done, Alyssa, on this accomplishment.”

Upon discovering her photo selection, Bowen remarked, “When my professor notified me via email, I was shocked. My friend had to reassure me multiple times that I was chosen. I was filled with joy and exhilaration. It is a privilege to be selected among such outstanding work.”

Bowen shared that the motivation behind “Open” arose following Hurricane Helene, which recently affected the area. “I aimed to express a feeling of loss and the uncertainty many individuals faced during that period,” she conveyed.

Looking forward to her aspirations post-graduation, Bowen expressed her intention to pursue a master’s degree in 3-D visual arts and to become a sculpture professor.

Reflecting on her experiences at Lander, the native of Belton stated, “Lander has provided me the chance to establish the Art Club and engage with the most incredible individuals. I now regard Lander as home.”
