Brandt and Chung Shine as USA Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans!

SPARKS, Md. – USA Lacrosse revealed its Division I Women’s Preseason All-Americans on Wednesday morning, with seniors Anna Brandt and Erika Chung from the University of Pennsylvania women’s lacrosse squad receiving the distinction.
 
Midfielder Brandt was selected as Preseason First Team All-American, while attacker Chung received Preseason Honorable Mention All-America recognition.
 
Brandt led Penn and stood sixth among Ivy League athletes with 60 goals, concluding the 2024 season second on the program’s single-season record. An undisputed First Team All-Ivy pick in the previous year, Brandt also secured All-Tournament honors at the Ivy League Tournament after setting ILT records for goals in a game (8 in Penn’s semifinal triumph over Princeton) and in a tournament (12). Heading into her senior year, Brandt ranks third on the program’s all-time goals list with 138—she requires just 11 to surpass Ali DeLuca’s record—and sits 15th in career points (144). The Maryland native was named Third Team All-American by Inside Lacrosse and IWLCA, and received Honorable Mention All-American from USA Lacrosse Magazine to conclude the last season.
 
Chung led the Quakers with 52 assists and was second on the squad with 64 points at the end of the 2024 season. The Honorable Mention All-Ivy awardee established a program record for assists in a game when she provided eight assists against Brown on April 20, and had five-assist outings last season against Ivy regular-season champion Yale and Columbia. Chung enters her senior year ranked fourth on the program’s all-time assist leaderboard with 93. In the 2024 regular-season conclusion at Dartmouth, she achieved an assist and became the 28th player in the program’s history to tally 100 career points.
 
Brandt, Chung, and their teammates in the Red and Blue commence the 2025 season on Sunday, Feb. 16, against University City rival Drexel at noon.
