The creator’s latest collection, Fabled Gardens II, mainly showcases large rhubarb, ferns, and rhododendrons, emphasizing the intriguing designs and layers of leaves, fronds, and blossoms. Leighton highlights the plants at nighttime, creating sharp silhouettes against dark backdrops.

Leighton’s images (previously) highlight what he calls the “forces that mold the natural world,” leveraging the influence of light and color to depict vital biological functions like photosynthesis, reproduction, growth, and decomposition.
