“Jersey Mike’s Celebrates Stellar Performances: WAC Women’s Swimming and Diving Athletes of the Week Revealed!”

ARLINGTON, Texas – Grand Canyon’s Aleksandra Wegrzynowska and Lacey Neighbor have been recognized as the Jersey Mike’s A Sub Above Western Athletic Conference (WAC) Women’s Swimmer and Diver of the Week, for the competitive week concluding on Sunday, Jan. 19.
 
Wegrzynowska, a senior, achieved three top-two placements with two wins during Grand Canyon’s women’s dual meet victory over California Baptist. Wegrzynowska recorded the second-fastest time in the 400 individual medley for the WAC, triumphing in the event with a time of 4:23.08. Furthermore, Wegrzynowska clinched the 200 freestyle with a duration of 1:51.00, marking the eighth-best performance in the conference. Additionally, she secured second place in the 200 butterfly at 2:04.14, which is the ninth-fastest time in the WAC for that event.
 
Neighbor, a sophomore, claimed victory in the 3-meter dive, scoring 243.20, while finishing third in the 1-meter dive with a total of 215.03 points.
