LAWRENCE, Kan. – The Kansas swimming and diving program revealed the signing of nine-year-old Finley Murphy via Team IMPACT last Wednesday.

“We eagerly await Finley becoming a part of our team,” stated Kansas head coach Clark Campbell. “She will definitely have a positive effect on us all and we are thrilled for her inclusion in our squad.”

Finley was diagnosed with Spina Bifida and DiGeorge Syndrome, conditions where the spine and spinal cord fail to develop correctly, possibly resulting in physical and neurological difficulties.

Finley enjoys swimming, football, music, and dancing; her friends describe her as cheerful and amicable. Her favorite film is “Frozen,” and she regards her mother as her foremost inspiration in life.

The Swimming and Diving program is one of seven at KU collaborating with Team IMPACT, alongside baseball, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, football, volleyball, and softball.
