Revealed: Elon Musk’s Confession on Video Game Cheating in Shocking Chat Transcript!

Elon Musk confessed to having cheated at video games to achieve high scores, a record of a confidential online discussion he engaged in reveals, seemingly wrapping up a heated controversy regarding the billionaire’s extravagant assertions of being a globally-ranked player.

Musk has frequently boasted about his gaming positions. He informed the podcaster Joe Rogan last year that he ranked among the top 20 players worldwide for the notoriously challenging action role-playing game Diablo IV.

His claims have prompted inquiries about how the wealthiest individual on the planet could find the time to compete on a global level. He would have to invest hundreds of hours gaming while managing enterprises such as Tesla Inc, X, and SpaceX, plus his increasing political engagement alongside Donald Trump.

The two games Musk asserts he excels in, Diablo IV and Path of Exile 2, are renowned for their difficulty. Some gamers dedicate the majority of their awake hours “grinding” through dungeons and fighting monsters and other mythical beings to enhance their virtual characters’ abilities.

A key to Musk’s improbable gaming talent was unveiled in a video shared on YouTube on Sunday by the top Diablo player NikoWrex, showcasing what he claimed was a private message exchange with Musk on X.

Within the discussion, Musk admits to “account boosting”, a form of cheating where individuals hire others to enhance their characters’ levels. This typically involves compensating them for playing extensively.

“Have you level boosted (had someone else play your accounts) and/or purchased gear/resources for PoE2 [Path of Exile 2] and Diablo 4?” NikoWrex questioned. Musk replied with a 100% emoji. He further remarked: “It’s impossible to defeat the players in Asia if you don’t, as they do!”

The Guardian was unable to independently authenticate the transcript, however Musk reshared the video on his X account and had earlier engaged with NikoWrex on X in early January to talk about Path of Exile 2. In his video, NikoWrex, whose Instagram account indicates he goes by Nick Hayes, demonstrated that Musk follows him on X.

He stated in the video that Musk had authorized him to share their discussion. The Guardian has reached out to Musk via X for comments.

The uproar regarding Musk’s purported gaming abilities ignited following his remarks on Rogan’s podcast in November, and additional scrutiny arose at the year’s start when he live-streamed his Path of Exile 2 character on X.

High-caliber players with extensive knowledge of the game alleged Musk committed basic errors that no seasoned player would, such as walking right past valuable loot that could enhance his character.

After being challenged, Musk began to publicly counter the accusations, embroiling himself in disputes with notable gamers. At the conclusion of the interaction with NikoWrex, Musk claimed to be “a living god of video games.”

The Canadian artist Grimes, who shares three children with Musk from a previous relationship, tweeted in his defence on Saturday, stating she has seen firsthand how he was a top Diablo player in the US. “There are other witnesses who can confirm this,” she stated.

On Monday, additional accusations of cheating were presented when Musk’s Path of Exile 2 character was noted as active in the game while Musk was in Washington attending Trump’s inauguration.
