ST. PAUL, Minn. – Harrison Scott and Albin Boija have both been recognized as nominees for the 2025 Hobey Baker Memorial Award, as revealed on Wednesday by the Hobey Baker Memorial Award Foundation.
 
The Hobey Baker Award is awarded each year to the leading player in Division I men’s ice hockey.
 
Boija, who was included in the Mike Richter Award Watch List last week, currently holds second place nationally with a 1.63 goals against average, while his .928 save percentage ranks third among goaltenders with at least 20 games played. The sophomore athlete is tied for third in the country in shutouts (3) and ranks fourth in victories (14). The native of Sundsvall, Sweden is only the third Hockey East goaltender in the past decade to achieve a goals against average of 1.65 or lower after their first 22 games. In the last five seasons, he is the ninth goaltender nationwide to record a goals against average of 1.65 or beneath during the first 22 games.
 
Scott is presently tied for third in the nation with 15 goals and is also tied for 13th in points with 27. His scoring line of 15-12-27 through the initial 23 games equals his career best established during the 2023-24 season. The San Jose, Calif. native has a face-off winning percentage of 56.9 this year, placing him sixth in the country among players with a minimum of 245 wins. Thus far this season, Scott has accumulated seven multi-point games, four multi-goal games, and two four-point performances.
 
Fan voting is currently open and will continue until March 9. Each fan is permitted one vote daily during this initial stage. The second phase of fan voting will commence after narrowing down the list to the top-10 finalists on March 19, lasting until March 30. The fan vote contributes a complete one percent of the overall ballot across each phase in determining this year’s award recipient.
 
The Hobey Hat Trick will be declared on April 3, with the winner announced during the 2025 Frozen Four in St. Louis, Missouri on April 12.
