WASHINGTON – On Tuesday, the BIG EAST Conference declared that Georgetown University’s Tinoda Matsatsa received the BIG EAST Male Track Athlete of the Week accolade for the second time this season. Matsatsa set a new NCAA Indoor Track & Field 1000m record with a time of 2:16.84 at the Nittany Lion Challenge on January 18.
Assistant Coach Brandon Bonsey
“Tinoda has made an astonishing start to this indoor season with two school records and an NCAA record. He is significantly ahead of where he was at this point last year. He is an extremely thrilling talent, and I eagerly anticipate his achievements for the remainder of this season.”
