Directions to New Student Orientation

Check-in is situated on the first level of the University Student Union. Park in the lot directly east of the Union as indicated on this parking map; for additional parking, utilize the large lot to the southeast (#158 yellow).

From the South

1. Heading north on I-29, take the initial Brookings exit (#132). Turn left and head west into Brookings. You are now on Highway 14, also known as 6th Street (this is the main route through town).
2. Stay on 6th Street and turn right (north) onto Jackrabbit Avenue (previously 16th Avenue), the first right after McDonald’s.
3. Proceed north on Jackrabbit Avenue for approximately four blocks to Student Union Lane.
4. Turn left (west) onto Student Union Lane and drive about two blocks west to the University Student Union. Parking is available on the east side of the University Student Union.

From the North

1. Traveling south on I-29, take the second exit for Brookings (#132). Turn right and proceed west into Brookings. You are now on Highway 14, also referred to as 6th Street (this is the main road through town).
2. Stay on 6th Street and turn right (north) onto Jackrabbit Avenue (previously 16th Avenue), the first right after McDonald’s.
3. Drive north on Jackrabbit Avenue for about four blocks to Student Union Lane.
4. Turn left (west) onto Student Union Lane and continue about two blocks west to the University Student Union. Parking is available on the east side of the University Student Union.

From the East

1. Traveling west, you will arrive in Brookings on Highway 14, which is also known as 6th Street (this is the main thoroughfare through town).
2. Follow 6th Street and make a right (north) onto Jackrabbit Avenue (previously 16th Avenue), the first right after McDonald’s.
3. Travel north on Jackrabbit Avenue about four blocks to Student Union Lane.
4. Turn left (west) onto Student Union Lane and proceed about two blocks west to the University Student Union. Parking is provided on the east side of the University Student Union.

From the West

1. Heading east, you will enter Brookings on Highway 14, which is also 6th Street (this is the principal roadway through town).
2. Stay on 6th Street and turn left (north) onto Jackrabbit Avenue (formerly 16th Avenue), the left just before McDonald’s.
3. Continue north on Jackrabbit Avenue for about four blocks to Student Union Lane.
4. Turn left (west) onto Student Union Lane and drive approximately two blocks west to the University Student Union. Parking is accessible on the east side of the University Student Union.
