Browns accused of staging photographer’s lake fall at helmet reveal

Splish splash, this Browns photographer was taking a shower.

In a fairly on-brand Cleveland Browns second, the group debuted a hanging new brown alternate helmet referred to as “Alpha Dawg” aboard a raft on Lake Erie, just for a photographer to steal the highlight by taking one misstep and plunging dramatically into the water.

With two mascots within the image and quite a few cameras surrounding, some speculated it was a staged second with the mascots’ dramatic reactions and the photographer’s fall trying somewhat too handy.

The second, talked about on ESPN’s new SC+ show with Gary Striewski and Randy Scott, was purported to be pretend because the second concerned a sanitary product model, Dude Wipes, and should have been set as much as get some publicity.

“Do you think it was staged?” Striewski requested.

“I wouldn’t put it past [them] because people love to go trending,” Scott replied. “But you know what, guy? We’re not even going to say your name. I mean, look, I don’t know what to believe anymore.”

The video high quality is one other concern when diving into the video’s authenticity, because it seems to be taken in 4K whereas a bystander on a ship recorded the interplay.

Regardless of it being staged or not, it was a laughable second to start out a Browns season that’s anticipated to be stuffed with them.

Cleveland is coming off a 3-14 season, tied for the NFL’s worst report with the Giants and Titans, and a four-man QB battle between Kenny Pickett, Joe Flacco, Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel is enjoying out at coaching camp.

The determination to select two rookie QBs — Gabriel and Sanders — put added consideration on the scenario, particularly given the highlight that’s on Deion Sanders’ son after he fell to the fifth spherical of the NFL draft in April.
