The Utah Department of Transportation is urging drivers heading to Park City by way of Parleys Canyon this weekend to plan forward and strongly take into account an alternate route.
With drivers touring to the Deer Valley Musical Festival, Concerts on the Slopes or recreation spots within the Wasatch Back — and a paving challenge in Parleys Canyon — UDOT expects main delays on Interstate 80 this weekend.
I-80 will likely be down to 1 lane in every route on the evenings of July 25 and 26 for a paving challenge from the mouth of the canyon to Mountain Dell Reservoir (Exits 131-134). Eastbound lane restrictions could begin as early as 7 p.m., with westbound restrictions starting by 10:30 p.m. every evening.
UDOT urges drivers to take Provo Canyon or Interstate 84 as alternate routes.
“We know construction isn’t easy, and want everyone to enjoy their time off and have a relaxing weekend,” UDOT Traveler Information Director Becky Parker mentioned. “So plan ahead, leave early or take the alternate routes so that you don’t feel rushed or stressed while driving up to Park City.”
Drivers may also examine the UDOT Traffic app or website for the newest site visitors updates, together with entry to site visitors cameras from Parleys Canyon and throughout the state.
