Sixth Annual Outboard Fun Run Goes The Extra Distance

There are two methods to beat the depraved late July warmth and humidity on the Lake of the Ozarks in Central Missouri. You can camp in air con at your lakefront residence or resort. Or you need to use your boat to create your individual model of local weather management.

For 76 go-fast center-console and catamaran house owners and their company on the lake yesterday, the latter was—actually and figuratively—the recent ticket. The sixth annual Performance Boat Center Outboard Fun Run fleet departed the dealership’s Osage Beach home-base within the mid-morning for Coconuts At The Lake restaurant and stayed awhile earlier than shifting to the Cave Bar And Grill.

That made for 50 plus miles of working, not counting the late-afternoon return journey from the Cave to Performance Boat Center and the adjoining Redhead Lakeside Grill and Yacht Club.

“Coconuts had held all the slips until we got there and we are thankful they accommodated us,” stated Michael Hall, a Performance Boat Center gross sales consultant. “The we hit the water for an honest jaunt to The Cave. Being there was very nice with the pool and the coolness of the cave location itself. On sizzling days, it presents a 65-degree space that delivers a reprieve from the warmth.

“We had something special set up for our clients and friends—a dunk tank,” he continued, then laughed. “The sales team and Performance Boat Center owners Mark (Waddington) and Brett (Manire) let everyone have a shot at dunking us. It was a blast.”

Bound for Performance Boat Center, the group departed the venue within the later afternoon.

“We finished off the day there,” Hall added. “It was a great day.”

Today’s enjoyable began with a morning run to breakfast. Then the catamaran and heart console house owners went their separate methods.

“The second ‘Sunny Sunday’ of the season is on for tomorrow,” Hall stated. “It’s going to be another great day.”
