Ukrainian Festival raises funds for individuals again dwelling with enjoyable for the individuals of Syracuse

SYRACUSE, N.Y. — News of the continued conflict again dwelling could not dampen spirits on the Syracuse Ukrainian Festival. On Saturday, a whole bunch visited St. John the Baptist Ukrainian Catholic Church to rejoice their heritage.

The pageant is within the midst of a transition. After 10 years on the helm, former director Nick Fruscello has handed the reins to a brand new chief, backed by “a great team.” Regardless of who’s in cost, the main focus stays the identical: having fun with good meals, good music, and supporting these caught within the grip of Russia’s conflict.

“With things going on in Ukraine, we want to show the local community what Ukrainians are all about– our food, our culture, everything,” says Fruscello. “It’s important we do this. We’re raising a lot of money for Ukraine here, and that’s something we need to continue doing.”

Ukrainian beadwork and clothes had been obtainable on the market, together with basic dishes like cabbage rolls, borscht, and kielbasa.
