Devin Allen, a self-taught artist from Baltimore, rose to prominence when his {photograph} from the Baltimore Uprising appeared on TIME journal’s cowl in May 2015. He is the third newbie photographer to ever obtain this distinction. Devin’s evocative portrayals of Black life have been showcased in main publications and are a part of the everlasting collections at a number of prestigious establishments.
