International Swimming Pool and Spa Code

Developed with the Pool & Hot Tub Alliance (PHTA), the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC) is the one complete swimming pool code coordinated with the I-Codes and PHTA Standards. The ISPSC incorporates minimal laws for public and residential swimming pools, spas, and sizzling tubs utilizing prescriptive and performance-related provisions.

2027 ISPSC/ICC Code Development Calendar

At this time, many of the feedback and work on improvement of the 2027 Group A I-Codes, which incorporates the International Swimming Pool and Spa Code (ISPSC), has been accomplished.

There is one extra listening to for this group of codes, the Public Comment Hearing (PCH), which is the ultimate evaluate by code officers earlier than publication. Comments on topics already raised at Code Action Hearing #2 (CAH#2) are accepted for the PCH. The dates for the PCH for Group A and B I-Codes are listed beneath.

• January 20, 2025 (Tentative) – cdpACCESS open for public remark submittals for 2026 PCH
• March 13, 2025 – Group B Codes internet posting of ‘Proposed Changes to The I-Codes’ (Monograph)
• March 14, 2025 – Deadline for cdpACCESS on-line receipt of public feedback for 2026 PCH
• April 27-May 6, 2025 – Group B Committee Action Hearing #1 (CAH #1)
• June 3, 2025 – Web Posting of Group B ‘Report Of The Committee Action Hearing #1
• March 4, 2026 – Web posting of ‘Group A & B Public Comment Hearing (PCH) agenda
• April 19-28, 2026 – Combined Group A & B Public Comment Hearing (PCH)

PHTA can also be submitting a proposal for the International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) to have ANSI/PHTA/ICC-2 2023 American National Standard for Public Pool and Spa Operations and Maintenance function the reference customary for necessities for swimming pool and spa upkeep.
