A director who used firm bank cards to spend £300,000 funding an opulent life-style has been jailed.

34-year-old David Carr, of St Lawrence Way in Bidford-on-Avon, Alcester, pleaded responsible at court in June to 3 counts of fraud by abuse of position of trust.

Carr was sentenced to 4 years and 7 months in jail (55 months) on Friday (July 25).

Between April 2014 and August 2022, Carr spent £300,000 utilizing firm bank cards from Bromsgrove IT, which went into administration.

Carr was the monetary director on the time.

He went on journeys to Disney World and acquired costly objects together with computer systems, high-tech devices and designer train bikes.

“Fraud can often be seen as a ‘victimless crime’ but the actions of criminals like Carr can have a big impact on companies, their customers and staff, which was certainly the case here.”
