Huskers Earn Educational Recognition from WBCA – College of Nebraska

The Nebraska women’s basketball team claimed special mention from the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association as one of the top performing teams in the Big Ten Conference for the 2024-25 academic year.

The Huskers, who earned their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past four seasons, posted a program-best 3.579 grade-point average during the year. Nebraska’s cumulative combined GPA under Coach Amy Williams was the second-highest in the 18-team Big Ten, trailing only a 3.597 GPA by Illinois. Nebraska’s team GPA ranked 10th among the 68 teams that qualified for the 2025 NCAA Tournament and 39th among the more than 360 NCAA Division I women’s basketball schools.

Overall, 115 NCAA Division I women’s basketball programs were recognized by the WBCA for carrying a 3.0 GPA or better for the 2024-25 academic year.
