Deputy Minister donates ICT devices to Esiphikeni Secondary School

THE Deputy Minister for Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, Simelisizwe Sibanda sourced laptops and units of Information and Communication Technology (ICT) devices for Esiphikeni Secondary School, in Bubi District, Matabeleland North province.

Deputy Minister Sibanda, who can also be the Bubi legislator, stated the devices, which he handed over on Monday, have been a part of pre-election guarantees he made.

The donation included laptops (with luggage and equipment), an HP printer, a multimedia projector, a Starlink equipment for web entry, and a whiteboard — a strong digital bundle mobilised in partnership with the Ministry of Communication Technology, Postal and Courier Services and the President’s Office.

Monday’s handover marked the fifth comparable gesture by Cde Sibanda following earlier handovers to Siganda, Mangubeni, Tame Secondary and Tame Primary Schools respectively.

Speaking on the handover ceremony attended by learners, ward 14 villagers and college heads from surrounding faculties, Cde Sibanda, who can also be the Deputy Minister of Higher And Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development stated the devices will go a good distance in empowering learners, academics and communities with the instruments they should thrive within the digital age.

“This event is not just about handing over devices, it is about opening doors of opportunity, creating pathways for innovation, and ensuring that our constituency moves forward in line with Vision 2030, the National Development Strategy 1 (NDS1), and the soon-to-be-implemented NDS2,” stated Cde Sibanda.

Cde Sibanda stated because the Bubi constituency legislator and Deputy Minister for Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development, he strongly believes that entry to ICT is the muse for enhancing the standard of schooling within the constituency.
