Family Fun Day on the 2025 Cheboygan County Fair gives petting zoo, books and extra

CHEBOYGAN — It’s been a well-liked occasion for years — and it continues to remain that manner.  

As a part of the 2025 Cheboygan County Fair on Monday, Aug. 4, many households and youngsters took half within the Family Fun Day actions placed on by the Cheboygan County Child Advocacy Council.  

Family Fun Day included video games, crafts and an opportunity for households to fulfill representatives from numerous businesses all through the group. For this 12 months’s occasion, 19 whole companies and teams have been current to work together with households.

“Family Fun Day was started a long time ago and it was to give families an opportunity to do something fun that was free, because the fair can kind of get costly for families, so we wanted to make sure that families could bring their kids into the fair, start to introduce them to the fair and give them fun, free activities and learn about the different organizations and resources that they have available to them here in Cheboygan County,” stated Lee Ann Theunick, vice chairman for the Cheboygan County Child Advocacy Council. 

Before midday, Theunick stated there have been already about 100 households in attendance for the Family Fun Day actions, which occurred on the Quonset hut contained in the fairgrounds.

“We really appreciate that (these agencies) come in and give up their time to plan a fun kids activity,” Theunick stated. “This event is made possible by everybody who’s here and participating.” 

With volunteers from the Cheboygan Area Public Library additionally current, children have been ready to decide on a free guide to take dwelling and preserve.

In 2024, Family Fun Day noticed 200 adults and 168 children take part in actions.
