Maxwell Blume (100m Breast) and Adele Sands (800m and 1500m Free) return to Summer Nationals after posting podium finishes at USA Swimming’s Speedo Summer Championships a year ago. Hannah Hill and Blume are racing at the summer showcase for the third year in a row. Kate Mouser and Keira Kask are also back for the Boilermakers.

Last month, Purdue was well represented by the women at USA Swimming’s Speedo Sectionals in Columbus (July 17-20) and Future Championships in Madison (July 23-26). At the Speedo Sectionals, Lara Phipps won the 50-meter butterfly and teamed up with Caitlin Hurley, Kaia Podlin and Sands to make Boilermaker Aquatics a winner in the 400-meter free relay. The following week in Madison, Nathaniel Thomas placed fourth in the 50-meter free for Purdue’s top individual finish. He also teamed up with Andy Kelly, Walker Mattice and incoming transfer Alex Hotta to help Boilermaker Aquatics place second in the 400m free relay, posting the second-best long course time in Purdue history.
