Across the Southeast District of DoDEA Americas, colleges welcomed college students again to lecture rooms on August 4, 2025, marking the beginning of the 2025-26 faculty 12 months with enthusiasm and promise. From Fort Campbell, Kentucky to Maxwell Air Force Base Alabama, the district’s military-connected college students, stepped into a brand new chapter, able to be taught and develop. At E.A. White Elementary School, situated on historic Fort Benning, Georgia, the day was remodeled right into a vibrant pageant of music, bubbles, and boundless pleasure. The Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) faculty welcomed college students with a rockin’ twist, because the Fort Benning Army Band blared electrical guitar riffs and drumbeats, setting the stage for a memorable return. Principal Jessica Thorne captured the temper completely: “Today is the first day of school. We are motivated, excited. This is our opportunity to welcome our students back to the building and to provide those quality educational experiences for them to learn, develop, grow, and make innovative decisions, be creative.”

The faculty’s playground was a spectacle, with bubbles floating skyward and a forged of costumed characters greeting college students as they hopped off buses and out of automobiles. Student clutched their backpacks and the arms of younger siblings as they danced by a bubble storm, grins vast as they high-fived the varsity mascot and Principal Thorne.

A Parent shared, “My daughter was over the moon about starting school. She had her backpack packed a week ago, and her clothes picked out, sitting right next to it in her room, ready to go.”

Adding star energy to the festivities, particular company included Col. M. Jordan Inman, Commanding Officer of Martin Army Community Hospital, who joined the enjoyable to welcome college students.

The Army Band saved spirits hovering, taking part in rock anthems as college students danced in a storm of bubbles, then strolled into the constructing.
