A British man has been charged by US police with the tried homicide of his daughter-in-law after allegedly attempting to drown her in a swimming pool whereas on vacation, native authorities have stated.

Mark Raymond Gibbon, 62, of Beaconsfield in Buckinghamshire, allegedly tried to drown the 33-year-old girl after they’d an argument about his grandchildren of their rental residence on the Solterra Resort in Davenport, Florida, on Sunday, the Polk county sheriff, Grady Judd, stated on X.

Officers had responded to experiences of a disturbance in a yard swimming pool at about 5.20pm native time. Gibbon allegedly held the sufferer’s head underwater a number of occasions, which prevented her from respiration, Judd stated.
