Massillon Fun Fest 2025 set for Aug. 9 in downtown

MASSILLON – More than 100 space church buildings, companies, nonprofits, security forces and repair organizations will collect downtown for the Fun Fest from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 9.

The annual family-friendly, free- to low-cost occasion provides giveaways, demonstrations, academic alternatives and leisure. Booths shall be arrange on the Massillon Museum garden, the municipal car parking zone, and alongside First Street.

“I don’t think everybody will get through every booth,” chair Liz Gessner McAllister stated. “That’s visiting a booth every two minutes. But that’s not a bad thing. There is something for everyone.”

The occasion – organized by the Massillon Museum, Downtown Massillon Association and MCTV – will function outdated favorites like inflatables, face portray and giveaways from faculty provides to crafts to hygiene gadgets.

“There are loads and loads of giveaways,” she added. “And lots of things to do.”

New this 12 months is a Civil War reenactment by the Ohio twenty ninth Volunteer Infantry.

“In the Veterans Memorial Park, there are Medal of Honor winners and three of them are from the Civil War,” Gessner McAllister stated.

The VFW shall be close to the Memorial Park, making a gift of American flags.

There shall be stilt walkers, princesses, bubble swimming pools, balloon animals and Herky the Clown’s pipe organ. Kids can study to weave, see stay animals and make a craft.

A touch-a-truck shall be held within the municipal car parking zone and can function security autos, SARTA buses, tow vans and bucket vans.

Performers embody Massillon Tiger cheerleaders, YMCA gymnasts, sq. dancers, guitarist Katelyn Scott, Tiger Swing Band and majorettes, Up Stream Drifters and Jackson Steel Drum Band.

Krackpots Comedy Club will host a free comedy present after the occasion at 2 p.m. at 14 Lincoln Way W.

Besides the primary sponsors, almost 20 others helped make the occasion attainable, Gessner McAllister stated.

“Massillon’s Fun Fest is an amazing tradition of gathering people around a day of family-friendly fun involving more than 100 organizations and performers. It’s an interactive day as much as it is educational,” stated Alexandra Nicholis Coon, government director the Massillon Museum.

The occasion is funded partly by Visit Canton and ArtsinStark via a cultural tourism grant.

“Without the participation of these sponsors and the wonderful organizations and businesses, it wouldn’t be possible,” Gessner McAllister stated.

“It’s a Herculean effort. With at least four people at each booth, that’s a minimum of 400 people who have volunteered so that families and kids can have an enjoyable day.”
