Occasion Particulars (U.S. National Park Service)

Excited to discover the Old-Growth Redwood Forest? Interested in spending a number of hours hanging out with a Ranger? Hoping to snap some stellar pictures and meet fellow picture fanatics to swap ideas & methods? Join Ranger Mike for a Photography within the Forest Program! This program is 2 hours lengthy (8:30 am – 10:30 am) and we’ll talk about rules of images, Old Growth Redwoods ecology, and the way this National Park wouldn’t exist with no few influential photographers. If nothing else, Ranger Mike will fortunately pose for you! 

We’ll meet at Big Tree Wayside in Prairie Creek State Park. From there, we are going to hike north alongside Foothills Trail, cross over the Newton B Drury Scenic Parkway at Brown Creek Trail, then head again alongside the Karl Knapp Trail. This route options a number of picturesque bridges, some small hills, and, in fact, large large bushes. 

Necessary Supplies: 

• Good strolling Shoes
• Water
• Photo taking machine — Cell cellphone, digital point-and-shoot, 35mm Film, mirrorless digital camera, DSLR, and many others. (We’ll work with no matter ya acquired!!)
• A pack or bag

Useful Supplies:

• Forest-friendly snack — gotta hold it crumb clear! (Bananas > crumbly granola bars, and many others.)
• A Tripod
• Other picture tools
