The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has upgraded precautions for journey to China as there may be an outbreak of chikungunya in Guangdong Province. The virus, which is unfold by mosquitoes, has some comparable signs to dengue fever and Zika virus. Thousands in China have been contaminated as they use nets, insecticide spray, and even deploy drones to deal with the virus.
The CDC said, “You can protect yourself by preventing mosquito bites, which includes using insect repellent; wearing long-sleeved shirts and pants; and staying in places with air conditioning or that have screens on the windows and doors.”
The company added, “Vaccination is recommended for travelers who are visiting an area with a chikungunya outbreak. Two chikungunya vaccines are approved for use in the United States.”
