E-wallet GCash on Saturday suspended its gaming entry on its GLife characteristic in compliance with a directive from Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP).
GCash suspended the stated entry at 8 p.m. on Saturday, August 16.
“In compliance with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) Memorandum No. M-2025-029, gaming access on GLife has now been suspended as of 8 PM, August 16, 2025,” it stated in an advisory.

“In view of the surge in online gambling transactions and the heightened public concern on its financial health impact to consumers, the Monetary Board in its Resolution No. 805 dated 14 August 2025, approved the suspension of in-app gambling access from BSIs’ [BSP-supervised institutions] mobile payment apps and websites pending the issuance and implementation of the corresponding policy that provides standards and expectations for BSls in the provision of on line gambling payment services,” the BSP memorandum learn.
