New e book and exhibition celebrates Tasmania’s wilderness

Photographer and conservationist Chris Bell will launch a brand new e book, TRACES: The Photography of Chris Bell, to coincide with a serious exhibition of his work on the Queen Victoria Museum and Art Gallery (QVMAG) in Launceston this September.

The large-format, 116 web page linen-bound e book presents 50 images from Bell’s profession. It options section-sewn binding, debossed cowl design with foil titling and two paper shares: 170gsm Mori Silk for picture copy and uncoated inventory for the foreword, essay and afterword. Matt silver gilding on the sides supplies further safety.

The e book features a foreword by QVMAG curator Jon Addison, an essay by Emeritus Professor Tim Bonyhady, and a private reflection by Bell on his lengthy engagement with the pure world.

Bell, who was born in Singleton, New South Wales, moved to Tasmania in 1972 to affix the marketing campaign to save lots of Lake Pedder. He went on to assist set up The Wilderness Society and the Tasmanian National Parks Association.
