2025-26 Swimming and Diving Schedule Introduced

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. – The West Virginia University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics has introduced the 2025-26 schedule for the West Virginia University males’s and girls’s swimming and diving groups.
 
Head coach Brent MacDonald begins his second season in Morgantown, having been named to guide this system in May 2024.
 
Last season, the lads’s swimming and diving crew completed 1-4 total and positioned seventh on the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships. The girls’s swimming and diving crew completed 1-5 total and positioned ninth on the Big 12 Championships.
 
The 2025-26 season begins with the Florida State University Invitational in Tallahassee, Florida, from Sept. 26-27. The Mountaineers return house to host the West Virginia State Games on Oct. 4, at The Peak Health Aquatic Center at Mylan Park in Morgantown.
 
Normally a two-day occasion, the occasion has been shortened to someday this season. The males’s crew gained final season, and the ladies’s crew completed second behind Marshall.

 

The girls’s swimming and diving crew will face Marshall on Oct. 10 in Huntington, W.Va., earlier than each groups hit the street to face Delaware on Oct. 18. Delaware is coached by former WVU swimmer Pablo Marmolejo, who was an NCAA All-American and three-time Big East champion whereas with the Mountaineers.

 

West Virginia will host an Alumni Meet on Oct. 24, as all alumni of the WVU swimming and diving program are inspired to attend.

 

WVU takes on Loyola (Md.) on Nov. 2 for its first house twin meet of the yr, earlier than internet hosting the WVU Invitational from Nov. 20-22.

 

The Backyard Brawl returns to Morgantown for the primary time since 2024 as West Virginia faces Pitt on Jan. 10. West Virginia will journey to Houston, Texas, to compete within the Big 12 East Showdown from Jan. 16-17.

 

Senior day will happen on Jan. 24 because the Mountaineers face Villanova and Duquesne (girls’s solely). West Virginia completes the common season as Penn State involves Morgantown on Jan. 30. The diving crew may also compete within the Virginia Tech Diving Invitational from Feb. 6-8, in Blacksburg, Virginia.

 

The 2026 Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships are slated for Feb. 24-28, in Greensboro, North Carolina.
