STORRS, Conn. – The UConn males’s soccer crew will open the 2025 season on Thursday, August 21 because the Huskies will face the Syracuse Orange on the SU Soccer Stadium. Kickoff is about for 7:00pm. The recreation can be televised on ACC Network Extra or will be streamed on ESPN+.

UConn is coming off an 8-4-6 marketing campaign in 2024, making their second straight BIG EAST Tournament look. Head Coach Chris Gbandi enters his fourth season on the helm for the lads’s soccer program. Coach Gbandi Season Preview 

UConn returns key contributors from a season in the past, together with three of their prime 5 level leaders, in Sabri Hanni, Charlie Holmes, and Marco Valentic, together with 5 returning starters: Hanni, Holmes, Nicolas Tomerius, Max Gummesson, and Johan Hamel. 

A Look at Syracuse: 

The Syracuse Orange are coming off a 7-7-3 file in 2024, making their fourth straight ACC Tournament look. The Orange are coached by Ian McIntyre who’s getting into his 16^th season as the top coach. Syracuse was voted to complete 11^th within the ACC Preseason Coaches’ Poll. The Orange return 13 gamers from their 2024 roster, together with sophomore defender Chimere Omeze, who was chosen as an ACC Preseason Player to Watch. 

Series History:

The final time these two groups met was in 2022; Syracuse received 5-0. UConn has dropped the final 4 straight contests to Syracuse, final incomes a win over the Orange in 2009. The Huskies lead the all-time collection 22-14.
