Governor Polis Celebrates Colorado’s Strong Agricultural Group at 153rd Colorado State Fair

PUEBLO – Today, Governor Polis attended the 153rd Colorado State Fair, assembly with farmers and ranchers from throughout the state, celebrating Colorado’s robust agricultural sector, and showcasing every part that makes Colorado one of the best place to dwell, work, and play.

From the youth livestock competitions and horse shows to the Colorado Proud trail and the rodeos, the fair is a time when we connect and celebrate what brings us together,” stated Colorado Commissioner of Agriculture Kate Greenberg. “It was a great honor to meet with our Centennial Farms and Ranches families and present the Commissioner’s Agricultural Legacy Award to retiring Rocky Mountain Farmers Union CEO Ben Rainbolt. These individuals and families represent the strength of Colorado agriculture throughout the generations, and we’re proud to celebrate their legacy at the Colorado State Fair.”

Governor Polis and Kate Greenberg, Colorado’s Commissioner of Agriculture, attended and met with farmers and ranchers on the Centennial Farm and Ranch Celebration, an annual occasion co-hosted by History Colorado and the Colorado Department of Agriculture to have fun the previous, current and way forward for Colorado’s agriculture neighborhood and trade. Governor Polis rounded out his day visiting Di Santi Farms to take a tour and harvest Pueblo chiles. The DiSanti household began farming in Pueblo, CO in 1890, just some miles from the present headquarters on the St. Charles Mesa. The DiSanti household has developed to a retail and wholesale grower and shipper that produces 26 totally different crops, that are marketed all through the state of Colorado.
