Followers journey from close to and much for FCS kickoff traditional

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) – College soccer is again and followers are prepared. Montgomery’s very personal Cramton Bowl served because the battleground for this 12 months’s FCS Kickoff Classic.

The UC Davis Aggies of California took on the Mercer Bears of Georgia proper right here in Montgomery, and followers couldn’t be extra excited. Some, wanting to see their family members chasing their goals.

“I am happy that I get to watch my brother play this amazing sport once again after multiple months of waiting,” Thomas Albright, a Mercer fan, stated. “I am so proud of him.”

Others traveled to help the college they attend, bonding with their fellow college students alongside the way in which.

“Sports is beautiful; it brings people together.” Gbayilo Oluwatomison, a Mercer scholar, stated. “We all have a reason to bond; it’s just a beautiful thing to see everybody here and just compete against other schools.”

Some traveled greater than 2,000 miles to see their favourite workforce kick off soccer season.

“This is the first time Davis has come to this venue,” Paul Hadley, a UC Davis fan since childhood, stated. “It’s a big recognition of how they’ve done.”

For Hadley, who lives in California, the sport is a uncommon likelihood to share the love of his workforce on the West Coast together with his household pals who reside in Montgomery.

“This is the first time we’ve gotten a chance to get together and go to a real Davis game together, and to watch Davis win,” Hadley stated.

So whether or not you say “Go Aggies” or “Go Bears,” faculty soccer introduced individuals from all throughout the nation collectively for the love of the game.
