Tourism Minister Patricia de Lille’s opening remarks throughout Tourism Execution Lab session – Emperor’s Palace

​​​​Good morning, everybody.​

Welcome to the Execution Lab for the Tourism Growth Partnership Plan.

Today marks a historic first, a daring and collaborative effort between authorities, the personal sector, and our many companions to unlock the total potential of South Africa’s tourism sector.

I’m deeply inspired that we’re right here, collectively, to behave. I wish to thank the Tourism Business Council of South Africa for its steadfast assist, and for establishing the Project Management Office that’s bringing this plan to life.

The Execution Lab isn’t just one other assembly. That is why this plan is included into the Department of Tourism’s Annual Performance Plan and into the commitments I’ve made on to the President.

Colleagues, my imaginative and prescient is obvious: tourism should turn out to be a catalyst for inclusive financial development. At the center of this imaginative and prescient is the employment of younger folks. They are the way forward for this sector, and thru this plan, we are able to be certain that extra younger South Africans discover hope, dignity, and alternative in tourism.
