Davis on Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Watch List

DURHAM, N.C. – Freshman defensive lineman Bryce Davis earned a spot on the Shaun Alexander Freshman of the Year Award Watch List in response to an announcement Tuesday by the Maxwell Football Club. 

Davis was named a MaxPreps All-America and took half within the 2025 Under Armour Next All-America Game. He lettered 4 seasons at Grimsley High School in Greensboro, N.C., below head coach Darryl Brown.

As a senior, the defensive finish guided the Whirlies to the No. 1 seed within the state playoffs and captured the North Carolina High School Athletic Association 4A title. Davis completed his closing marketing campaign with 125 complete tackles, 37 tackles for a loss, 27 sacks, 5 compelled fumbles and eight go breakups as Grimsley completed 16-0. 

Davis helped the Whirlies to the Metro 4A convention championship as a senior, when he was named the league’s most precious defensive participant. He additionally earned three letters as a member of the basketball program, serving to Grimsley to the convention championship the final two seasons.

The Shaun Alexander Award is introduced to the most effective freshman participant in faculty soccer. The award is called after the 2005 NFL Most Valuable Player, Shaun Alexander.
