Google launched a brand new characteristic in August that lets you see extra from the web sites you like.

The “preferred sources” feature “permits you to customise your expertise to see extra out of your favourite websites inside Top Stories,” Google says.

According to Google, “you can select your favorite sources and stay up to date on the latest content from the sites you follow and subscribe to — whether that’s your favorite sports blog or a local news outlet.”

The feature that launched on Aug. 12 allows you to filter your news experience by source preference so you see more articles from that source.

When you run a query or a keyword through the search engine using Statesman Journal as your preferred source, you’ll see the latest content on that topic from the Statesman Journal.

You can select as many sources as you like or change your preferred sources at any time, according to Google.

“When you select your preferred sources, you’ll start to see more of their articles prominently displayed within Top Stories, when those sources have published fresh and relevant content for your search,” Google said.

How so as to add the Statesman Journal

Adding Statesman Journal to your “preferred sources” is straightforward. You can both use this shortcut or observe these steps:

• Search Google for a topic that’s in the news and click on the icon to the right of “Top Stories”
• Search and select your “preferred sources,” i.e., your go-to news organization/organizations
• Refresh your results and see more from your favorite sites
