New collection shining a light-weight on our Para-sport coaches

World-class athletes want world-class mentors and with Brisbane 2032 quick approaching, Australian sport wants our Para-sport coaches now greater than ever earlier than. 

As a part of a collection to showcase the impression and tales behind the Para Uplift, the Australian Institute of Sport (AIS) is shining a light-weight on the individuals inspiring, guiding and supporting our present and future Paralympians. 

The Para Uplift is a nationwide motion being led by the AIS in partnership with Paralympics Australia, sports activities and state and territory sport institutes and academies, to assist make Brisbane 2032 Australia’s most profitable Games ever. 

The five-episode collection will drill down into the motivations of our Para-sport coaches, present how a house Games in 2000 revolutionised Para-sport and stay up for the joys of a house Paralympics in Brisbane. 

Episode 1: What’s it actually like to teach Para-athletes? It’s not more durable, simply totally different.  

Episode 2: Why we want Para-sport coaches, now greater than ever. Coaches share why the lead-up to Brisbane 2032 is a recreation changer – and the way new funding, power and alternative are reshaping the way forward for Para-sport. 

Episode 3: Sydney 2000 modified the whole lot for Para-sport teaching in Australia and our subsequent residence Paralympic Games – Brisbane 2032 – may take it even additional.

The Australian Government has invested a further $54.9 million in Para-sport – doubling earlier funding – to fund the Para Uplift, which is addressing higher classification alternatives, entry to fit-for-purpose coaching environments and specialised teaching and efficiency help.
