Nikolas Tomasevic: San Francisco crews get better physique of lacking swimmer at Aquatic Park Cove

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) — The physique of the 35-year-old swimmer lacking from Aquatic Park Cove in San Francisco has been discovered, police say.

In a launch on social media, SFPD stated that dive crews recovered the physique of Nikolas Tomasevic at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday in Aquatic Park Cove.

The San Francisco Marine Unit, the SFPD Dive Team and Bomb Squad all assisted within the restoration.

Tomasevic had gone lacking Saturday morning.

On Monday, San Francisco’s swimming group held on to hope because the hours and days glided by with none sight of Tomasevic.

“Very strong swimmer and dedicated swimming. He would swim year-round, winter and summer,” stated swimmer George Robyn.

Robyn knew Tomasevic and was involved he may need had a medical episode.

“A seizure- that if he had a seizure in the water that would be it. He said that, kind of in passing to someone else in the past,” stated Robyn.

Multiple metropolis businesses started trying to find Nikolas Saturday afternoon after the swimmer he was with reported him lacking.

“Unfortunately, that person waited four hours to let us know. That is the gap in time that doesn’t really allow us to get a pinpoint location,” stated Lt. Mariano Elias with SFFD. “We worked with the police department, the coast guard and highway patrol to try to look using sonar and basically try to see where that person was, we had no luck finding them.”

The Dolphin Swimming and Boating Club the place Nikolas was a member positioned the flags at half-staff to honor him.

“This is a tight community, and Nikolas was part of it as are his friends. It’s a sad day here,” stated Ken Coren, President of Dolphin Swimming and Boating Club.

Earlier this morning, the SFPD Marine Unit, with help from the SFPD’s Dive Team and Bomb Squad and volunteers with the California Recovery Divers, recovered the physique of 35-year-old Nikolas Tomasevic.
