Virginia Field Hockey | No.3 Virginia Opens Season In opposition to No.18 Penn State on Friday

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – The No.3 Virginia discipline hockey group opens the 2025 season on Friday, Aug. 29, taking over No.18 Penn State at 5 p.m. at Turf Field in Charlottesville, Va.

MATCH NOTES

• Virginia is ranked No.3 within the NFHCA Preseason Poll
• Virginia has been ranked within the prime 10 of the NFHCA ballot because the Week 1 ballot of the 2022 season
• The Cavaliers posted a 14-5 document in 2024, advancing to the NCAA Quarterfinals
• The group returns main scorers from final 12 months, together with graduate pupil Suze Leemans and junior Emma Watchilla

ON THE HORIZON
The Cavaliers will host tackle Ohio State and Rutgers on Friday, Sept. 5 (4 p.m.) and Sunday, Sept. 7 (11 a.m.) within the BIG TEN/ACC Challenge in Columbus, Ohio earlier than returning dwelling to host JMU on Sunday, Sept.14 (1 p.m.). Admission is free for all common season contests at Turf Field.
