“Seeds,” the recipient of the Grand Jury Prize for Documentary at the Sundance Film Festival, will make its Thomasville premiere at the Thomasville Center for the Arts, 600 E. Washington St., at 2 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 30. This event is free and open to the public.

The film explores themes that reflect the heart of the community — resilience, cultural legacy and the power of storytelling as it captures multiple generations of Black farming families in Thomas County, Georgia. “Seeds” is a realistic and intimate portrayal of the challenges faced — and ultimately surmounted — within the Black farming community.

Following the screening, there will be a Q&A session with filmmaker Brittany Shyne and other special guests.
