Conference Travel Grants

All obtainable journey grant funds have been reopened!

This program supplies assist to engineering Ph.D. candidates and postdoc researchers touring to skilled conferences to current papers on their analysis.

Benefits and Goals

Requirements

• 
  You have to be a College of Engineering graduate scholar or postdoc.
• 
  You should have handed your preliminary examination or are scheduled to take your preliminary examination previous to attending the convention.
• 
  You have to be presenting a paper on the convention at the least two months earlier than your commencement date.

How to Apply

• 
  You should submit the Request for Conference Travel Funds type (PDF) at the least 2 weeks previous to the convention.
• 
  Forms have to be accomplished electronically.
• 
  Your signature and the graduate chair’s signature are required on the shape. Electronic signatures and electronic mail approvals shall be accepted.
• 
  You should submit the shape to within the following method:
  • 
    Email your Request for Conference Travel Funds type as a PDF attachment to engrgrad@purdue.edu.
  • 
    Write “Conference Travel Grant Request” within the topic line.

  Conference registration, journey, and meals (per diem)

  Professional affiliation memberships

Restrictions

• 
  Travel grants shall be awarded to Ph.D. candidates and postdocs for conferences till funds are exhausted.
• 
  Awardees shall be chosen on the idea of knowledge offered on the request type with the next constraints:

1. 
   The variety of journey grants per faculty shall be roughly proportional to the dimensions of the varsity’s Ph.D. or postdoc program.
2. 
   No greater than two college students and one postdoc from anybody advisor’s group will obtain journey grants in a calendar 12 months.
3. 
   No scholar will obtain funds to attend a couple of convention.

  Applications shall be reviewed on a rolling foundation.

Reimbursement

• 
  Within one week after getting back from the convention, you need to full the “Report on Conference Travel” type which shall be e-mailed to you as an attachment upon grant approval.

(NEW!) Multi-Disciplinary National Conferences Travel Grant Expansion Pilot

To broaden visibility for graduate scholar excellence, the College of Engineering is piloting an growth of the prevailing convention journey grant program. This pilot will present restricted funding for graduate college students to current their work at multi-disciplinary nationwide conferences (e.g., GEM, SACNAS, SHPE, SWE, NSBE, oSTEM, AISES, TBP) or choose research-focused occasions (reminiscent of pitch competitions).

This program is designed to acknowledge the worth of cross-disciplinary scholarly engagement and to extend the visibility of Purdue Engineering analysis and innovation in broader nationwide boards.

Award Details

• 
  Funding Amount: Up to $500 per scholar
• 
  Number of Awards: Up to 10 whole per 12 months (5 in fall, 5 in spring; whereas funds final)


Eligibility

• 
  Must be a College of Engineering graduate scholar (Master’s or PhD)
• 
  Must be presenting or competing on the convention or occasion (normal attendance or skilled growth actions are usually not eligible)
• 
  Prioritization shall be given to college students who are usually not eligible for the normal journey grant program above.


Application Process

• 
  Complete the Application by Sept 15, 2025 8 AM eastern for Fall 2025 travel
• 
  Follow the identical reimbursement procedures outlined above on the normal CoE Graduate Travel Grant web site
