Air high quality warning issued for Calgary as wildfire smoke blankets a lot of province

A warning issued Tuesday by Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) says folks ought to restrict their time outside as smoke from wildfires is inflicting very poor air high quality and decreased visibility.

The smoke is rolling in from wildfires within the Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan, based on ECCC.

Christy Climenhaga, a meterologist with ECCC, mentioned Calgary has had 52 hours of smoke to date this season. That’s the least quantity of smoke Calgary has seen since 2016.
