WOMEN’S SOCCER TO TRAVEL TO ILLINOIS STATE ON THURSDAY

INDIANAPOLIS- The IU Indianapolis ladies’s soccer staff will journey to Illinois State on Thursday (Sept. 4th) to play their third street sport and sixth regular-season sport towards the Redbirds. 

The Jaguars got here up quick in a 1-0 shutout loss towards Ball State this previous weekend. The pictures have been even 12-12. In nook kicks, the Cardinals had the sting 4-1. In the online, Arissa North led the sport with six saves. Seniors Sarah Henson, Emma Frey, Kailyn Smith, North, and junior Katie Hoog performed the entire 90 minutes towards the Cardinals.  

The Jaguars had 4 gamers with a shot on aim: senior Henson, freshman Sophia Davila, and graduate college students Emma Antoine and Hannah Roberson. Smith, Hoog, Henson, and Frey all have over 420+ minutes of play, whereas Frey has performed all 450 minutes. The Jaguar level leaders redshirt freshman Oliva Hopper and Roberson have three factors every. 

QUOTABLE

“They showed a lot of heart. We’re short-handed – we had a rough week this past week with a couple of kids. We’ve got a kid on crutches, and we’ve got another kid who’s out with a knee injury. I’m not using excuses, but our starting goalkeeper is out, but we showed a lot of heart,” stated Head Coach Anegla Berry-White.

SCOUTING ILLINOIS STATE

Illinois State is presently 2-3-1. With their two most up-to-date victories being shutouts towards Western Illinois, 5-0, and UT Martin, 1-0. Chole Cline and Rylann Law each lead the staff with two objectives every, and Kaya Durkee and Erika Wells every lead the staff in assists with two assists every. 

INSIDE THE SERIES

The Jaguars are 2-2 all-time towards Illinois State. Their final match up was in 2019, when Illinois State took a shutout win 1-0.
