Marc Gershel Named Hunter Headvert Swim Coach

NEW YORK – Hunter College Athletics is happy to introduced the hiring of Marc Gershel as its new head coach of the ladies’s swimming program.

Gershel joins the Hawks with practically a decade of teaching expertise on the highest ranges of aggressive swimming and endurance sports activities. Since 2015, he has served as head coach of the NYC Hydras, a U.S. Masters Swimming crew, the place he has developed athletes throughout all ability ranges and fostered a powerful crew tradition. In addition, Gershel has led Breakaway Endurance, a USA Triathlon program, since 2017, designing coaching plans for athletes, constructing power and conditioning applications, and coordinating coaching journeys and competitions each domestically and overseas.

As an athlete, Gershel has compiled a formidable résumé highlighted by his participation within the 2021 Ironman 70.3 World Championship and recognition as an Ironman All World Athlete in 2023.
